There are currently 32 teams in the NFL. Only 20 of those teams have ever won a Super Bowl. The breakdown of Super Bowl wins by team can be seen in the graph above.
Clearly a few teams have dominated the league. The Patriots and the Steelers account for 22% of all Super Bowl wins. The Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, and 49ers account for 40% of the wins. And the Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers, Packers, and Giants account for 55% of all wins. Six teams have won more than half of all the Super Bowls!! That is insane. Also not great news for small market cities who have never won a Super Bowl.
