Masters ~ Total Wins By Country

Masters Sports

The sport of golf is very hard to get into because of the high cost of equipment and the high cost to actually play. Because of this, successful professional golfers don’t come from a lot of different countries. This post will look at the home countries of all the winners for the Masters. The Masters is an annual golf tournament that is held in the US. Historically there have been Masters winners from 11 different countries. The graph above shows the break down of each country and their total Masters wins.

The United States has unsurprisingly the most wins with 62 Masters titles (74% of the wins). All other countries combined have 22 Masters titles (26% of the wins).

Spain and South Africa both have a total of 5 wins.

England has 4 total wins.

Germany has 2 total wins.

Whales, Scotland, Fiji, Canadas, Australia, and Argentina each have one win.

As the sport of golf becomes more wide spread, there is reason to think that winners from non USA countries will become more common. As of now, the majority of Masters winners do come from the US.
