The Great Lakes are 5 interconnect freshwater lakes with shorelines located in the USA and / or Canada. The lakes, Eire, Huron, Michigan, Ontario, and Superior each holds a huge amount of water. The graph above shows the volume in cu miles that each of the Great Lakes holds.
Lake Superior has the most water by far, with a volume of 2900 cu miles. It hold more water than the other four lakes combined. It truly is a superior lake.
Lake Michigan has the second largest volume at 1180 cu miles. In third place is Lake Huron with a 850 cu miles volume. In fourth is Lake Ontario with a 393 cu miles volume. In last place, the smallest lake by volume is Lake Eire with 116 cu miles of water. All this information can be seen in the graph above.
