The Masters is a highly competitive golf tournament that takes place ever year in Augusta Georgia. A interesting way to analyze the Masters, is by looking at the age of the winners. This post will look at the youngest golfers to every win the tournament. The graph above shows the 5 youngest Masters winners and the year they won.

In 1997, Tiger Woods claimed his fist win at the Masters, and set the recored for being the tournament’s youngest winner. He was 21.3 years old for this win. As of 2020, he still holds that record, although Jordan Spieth come very close to beating it in 2015. Spieth was 21.7 years old for his win during his 2015 win.

Seve Ballesteros is third on this list with his win in 1980 at age 23. Jack Nicklaus was slightly older at his 1963 win at age 23.2.

The last on this list is Byron Nelson. He was 25.2 during his 1937 win.

All of these gentleman were very young during their first wins at the Masters. Tiger has managed to keep this record, for youngest winner at the Masters, for over 20 years. That is quite impressive.
