Masters ~ Most Second Place Finishes Without A Win

Masters Sports

The Masters is a highly completive golf tournament that takes place every year in Augusta Georgia. Only the top golfers get the change to compete in the tournament. Winning is one of the greatest achievements for golfers. Some would say that even getting the change to compete is prize enough. But top golfers want to win. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen for lots of players. The worst is to come in second. The graph above shows the golfers with the most second place finishes without a win at the Masters.

Tom Weiskopf holds a record that no one wants to hold. He has the most second place Masters finishes, and has never finished first. That’s brutal. Weiskopf tops this list with four second place finishes, which is a lot.

Tom Kite, Johnny Miller, and Greg Norman all have three second place finishes but never got a win. All these guys are great golfers but it must be hard for them to have come so close to a win so many times. This is not a list any golfer wants to be on.
